Ushers at Zion present the offerings of our life and labor to the deacon or priest during the Liturgy of the Table. In other words, they collect the alms and carry them to the table. They close and open the altar rail for communion. During special services such as weddings and funerals where there will be a number of visitors, the ushers make every attempt to help them feel welcome and at ease. They may escort guests to their seats, distribute materials related to the service and maintain an alertness for any emergency that may arise.
